Punishment Severity Levels

Moderators assign severity based on intent, impact, and repeat history. Repeated offenses automatically result in higher severity.

1 Cheating and Exploiting

1.1 Using or Distributing Unfair Gameplay Mods

Clients, modifications, and resource packs that give unfair advantages are forbidden.

Major - Severe
Allowed Mods:
  • Performance & Visual Mods
  • Interface / Minimaps (No entity radar)
  • Quality of Life & Schematic Mods
Prohibited Mods:
  • Combat Cheats & ESP/X-Ray
  • Dupe Assisting & Hacked Clients
  • Movement Exploits & Automation Macros

1.2 Exploiting Bugs / Glitches / Loopholes

Intentionally taking advantage of server glitches or vagueness is punishable. Reporting bugs may be rewarded.

Mild - Severe
Common Examples:
  • Weaponizing intereaction delays in claimed lands; like block glitching up walls or hitting through closed doors
  • Abusing vague rules or broken features, provided a moderator already warned you. We work to promplty fix these issues
  • Using features in clearly unintended & harmful ways, like making 500 block long / 2 block narrow ships or using alts to bypass cooldowns

1.3 Duplication

You may not duplicate items, money, or stats through loopholes or exploits.

1.4 Abuse of Alternative Accounts

Given the importance of resident count on the server, players may have a maximum of 1 alternative account. This excludes siblings or friends playing on the same internet.

Moderate or punishment of rule broken with alt, applied to all associated accounts

Definition: An alternative account is defined as a secondary account to a player's primary one that is not actively used. Alts typically see less than 30 minutes of active playtime on servers and are only used to join towns, create towns, evade punishments, hide one's identity, etc.

1.5 Farming Playtime Stats (Anti-AFK)

Our rankup feature hinges on "Active" playtime. Do not use any methods to bypass being marked as AFK -- it will be deemed an exploit

2 In-Game Behavior - Chat

2.1 Chat Language

Be respectful in conduct. No harassment, bigotry, personal attacks, dehumanizing language, or threats of any kind.

Basic swearing and disagreements are fine

Harassment may include targeted and repetitive toxicity!

2.2 Misuse of Content

This includes defamation, blackmail, impersonation, manipulating messages, screenshots, or presenting lies as facts to portray someone in a harmful or deceptive way.

2.3 Spam

No disrupting chat with rapid messages, walls of text, or repeated similar messages.

2.4 Prohibited Topics

No discussion of politics, religion, suicide, self-harm, or trauma for community comfort.

2.5 NSFW / NSFL Content

Absolutely no Not Safe For Work or Not Safe For Life content. Crude/suggestive jokes also disallowed.

2.6 Personal Information

Do not share others' personal info (photos, age, address, social media) without explicit permission.

2.7 Advertising and Links

No advertising other Minecraft servers. No malicious links (IP loggers, viruses, inappropriate content).

2.8 Respecting Authority

Staff decisions are final. Complaints go to higher authority staff members. Ignoring moderators on the basis of disagreement will not be rewarded, even if correct

3 In-Game Behavior - PvP

3.1 Camping

Do not spawn kill players to the point where they're motivated to quit.

3.2 Griefing

You may grief in unclaimed territory, during raids, and during wars. You may grief the direct surrounding of a claim ONLY during war. Regardless of conflict, you may not grief builds directly attached to a claim or semi-in/semi-out. Said build must be fully disconnected by atleast a 10 blocks to reasonably be considered unclaimed.

3.3 Stealing & Insiding

You may steal from unclaimed territory, during official raids, and during wars. You may NOT steal from claims (same logic as 3.2 applies). Insiding to gain information is permitted, but becomes illegal once physical intereactions take place within claims: Stealing, Griefing, Tunneling, Framing the nation, etc.

3.4 Farming Kill Stats

No killing alts or consenting players repeatedly to farm stats/kill points.

4 General Nation Rules

4.1 Town and Nation Names

Keep names PG-13. No using same/similar names as existing teams without permission.

4.2 Group Discords

Must follow Discord's ToS and Community Guidelines.

Disclaimers:
  • This rule is only enforced in severe cases such as groups distributing hack clients or sharing / supporting illegal content
  • We will not exert punishments on Geofrontier for chat-related issues that occured on other Discord servers

4.3 Claiming Patterns

Specific Rules:
  • Snaking: Claims must be ≥3 chunks wide if spanning >3 chunks length (72h limit)
  • Claim Blocking: Can't entirely enclose others. Blocking ≤2 cardinal directions is reasonable
  • Unclaimed Pockets: No enclosed wilderness within claims
  • Empty Outposts: Must have purpose-built structure in core chunk

4.4 Traps

Traps only allowed if chunk has BREAK and PLACE flags set to TRUE for all parties.

5 War Rules

5.1 No Towering or Pillaring Over Walls

During sieges or wars, you must go through walls rather than building over them via towers or pillars.

Minor - Moderate

5.2 No Lava or Obsidian Filled Walls

Walls cannot be filled with lava or obsidian. Violations will result in the entire wall section being set to air.

Minor - Moderate + everything inside of wall will be set to air

5.3 Alliance Declarations

Allies must be declared and SET before siege/war begins. No new alliances or betrayals are allowed mid-war, but alliances can be switched during scheduled siege or war periods.

All groups involved will receive a penalty of 3x upkeep costs for up to a week

5.4 Valid War Reasons

Must have a valid reason for war & siege (doesn't apply to basic pvp raids or skirmishes). Open a ticket to have your reason approved before declaring war.

Automatic war lost

5.5 No Instant-Kill Traps

Traps that instantly kill players without chance of escape are prohibited during wars and sieges.

6 Extra Rules

6.1 Sales

No selling/buying in-game items, ranks, or perks for real currency. No chargebacks on official payments.

Moderate - Severe Severe (Chargeback)

6.2 Minecraft Accounts

No inappropriate usernames, nicknames, or skins. Accounts must be legally purchased/gifted per Minecraft ToS.

Mild - Ban until resolved Severe (Stolen account)

6.3 Discord

Chat rules apply to Discord. In voice: no music flooding after someone asks you to stop.

6.4 Adhere to EULA & ToS

All members must follow Discord ToS (age 13+) and Minecraft EULA/ToS.

7 Staff Disclaimers

7.1 ToS Disclaimer

As with any service, by playing our server, you agree to this list of rules and disclaimers. We are not required to accept appeals or provide punishment reason, but we do so out of respect.

7.2 Punishment Disclaimer

The rules stated above are not all-inclusive. Staff have the final say. At their discretion, undefined punishments may be given when it is deemed warranted by a member of the Staff.

7.3 Orders

In cases of contradicting orders, defer to the Senior Members of Staff.

7.4 Appeals & Reports

If you feel an unfair call has been made, please appeal via our website. If you feel biases or staff abuse is present, contact an administrator or co-owner.

Note:
  • Staff cannot expose our moderation tactics in cases where players demand to see all relative proof.

7.5 Staff Gameplay

Staff play the server like players. Keep in mind, we have developed numerous automatic checks to ensure fair gameplay.
